June 2008 Podcast Update

Happy June to my Financial Aid Podcast friends!

May was a terrific month for the podcast, with a new eBook on the way, a couple of public speaking engagements, interviews, and some fantastic feedback and questions from you on the show. I learn a lot from you when you write into the show with questions, because it compels me to go out and do research on your specific questions, which makes all of us smarter. I’m also happy to say that we celebrated the 800th episode of the podcast in May as well.

On that note, I want to again thank you for being a member of the podcast audience, by listening, subscribing, leaving comments on the blog at FinancialAidPodcast.com, writing in with your questions, and everything you do to participate in the podcast. Without you, there wouldn’t be a Financial Aid Podcast at all, so thank you again for your continued awesome support!

Subscriber Drive - I Need Your Help!

Remember last month how I said the podcast had reached a thousand listeners a day? We’re now closer to 1,200 listeners a day, and that’s awesome. Let’s keep that momentum going! I need YOUR help to reach more people who need financial aid help! Please help the show by subscribing and encouraging TWO friends to subscribe today. Subscribing helps make sure you don’t miss an episode.

If you have a computer without a lot of hard drive space or is a little older, or you’re not allowed to install software on it (maybe it’s a work computer), Google Reader is a great choice.

Do you have a web site? A blog? A podcast? Please support the Financial Aid Podcast by putting a link on your site! I’ve made buttons, badges, and widgets for you, too:

Thank you again for helping to grown the Financial Aid Podcast community!

The Student Loan Network $10,000 Scholarship

For everyone who’s new, make sure you’re registered for our 10K scholarship. We’re doing the drawing in October.

Be sure to grab a copy of our Scholarship Search Secrets eBook while you’re at it, too. It’s 35 pages on how to use Google and other tools to find scholarships.

If you think either of these resources is valuable, please add a link to them on your web site, profile, or other online presence!

Corporate Plug, of course!

I wouldn’t be doing my fiduciary duty to the company that sponsors all of this if I didn’t mention that the Student Loan Network, despite all of the chaos in the news, is still very much in business and ready to help you with your financial aid needs.

Featured Episodes In the Last 30 Days

Here’s a selection of episodes from the past 30 days that I think are meaningful or useful. Make sure you stop by the web site, www.FinancialAidPodcast.com, from time to time as I publish stuff that doesn’t necessarily make it into the audio show but is still fun, like the video game Budget Hero (yes, it’s really called that, and it’s surprisingly fun).

Financial Aid Podcast On Tour

June will be a busy month. I’ll be at the MASFAA (Massachusetts Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators) end of season event on June 18, so for MASFAA members, I’ll see you there. I’ll also be attending Podcasters Across Borders in Kingston, Ontario at the end of the month, and the MarketingProfs Forum on June 9, so if you’re involved in either of those two communities, I’ll see you then.

Last Words

Three years. 800+ episodes. It’s been a wild, exciting, awesome ride, and I couldn’t have done it without you. I so appreciate your continued support of the show, the folks who are linking to FinancialAidPodcast.com from your blogs and journals, and everyone who writes and calls in. Without you, I’d just be talking to the computer, and frankly, I think my computer’s already tired of me as it is, so thanks for tuning in.

Take care, and stay tuned!
